Ctenanthe Grey Star

Pronounced "te-nanth-ee", the Ctenanthe Grey Star is part of the Marantaceae family, native to Brazil.

It is a prayer plant that follows a unique circadian rhythm, spreading its leaves with the sunrise to absorb the sun, then withdrawing them and folding them at night like praying hands.

The Ctenanthe Grey Star can grow up to 2m tall.

Water when top 3-4cm of soil becomes dry.

Feed every 2-3 weeks from spring to early autumn with a nitrogen based fertiliser.

Moderate, indirect light

Curling leaves can be due to underwatering, give it a thorough water and ensure that the water is fully drained before returning it to its decorative pot. If the leaves start to fade or lose their pattern it can be due to too much bright light

The height of the plant is meaured from the bottom of the nursery pot. Diameter is that of the nursery pot.
