Variegated Spider Plant

A South African native and member of the Asparagaceae family.

The Spider Plant is a true classic of all houseplants.  It is easy to care for, with the option of being displayed on a shelf or in a hanging basket.

Mature plants send out long stems with star shaped flowers.  Once the flowers drop tiny plantlets or "spiderettes" form in their place.  These can be easily propagated to grow new plants.

Keep soil lightly moist in spring and summer. In autumn and winter water when top 3cm is dry.

Feed every 2-3 weeks from spring to early autumn with a nitrogen based fertiliser.

Shade tolerant, but thrives in moderate, indirect light

If the edges of the leaves turn brown it is likely that the soil is too dry, give it a thorough water and ensure that the water is fully drained before returning it to its decorative pot.

The height of the plant is measured from the bottom of the nursery pot. Diameter is that of the nursery pot.
