Philodendron Silver Sword

The Philodendron Silver Sword commonly grows in the eastern region of Brazil and Rio de Janeiro, a region that has suffered a lot due to deforestation. Luckily, its increasing popularity is preventing its extinction due to domestic plantations and collections.

The name Philodendron comes from the Greek words "philo,"  meaning "to love," and "dendron," meaning "tree," reflecting the natural disposition of the majority of Philodendrons to climb up trees.

Allow the soil to completely dry out before watering

Feed every 4 weeks from spring to early autumn with a nitrogen based fertiliser.

Moderate, indirect light

Yellowing leaves are caused by overwatering, ease up on the watering frequency and make sure that the top 5cm of soil is dry before watering. Brown leaves are due to too much direct sun, try moving to a shadier spot. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to keep them clean.

The height of the plant is meaured from the bottom of the nursery pot. Diameter is that of the nursery pot.
